Michael was extremely helpful and gave me so much information in a 10 minute free call. That's unheard of! My former mortgage company filed a Cancellation of Debt 1099-C with the IRS saying they charged off $145k that i owed taxes on... and it was entirely false! I refinanced and my new mortgage company paid off their company. But since they are used as a front for servicing by FNMA, i have few options to get them to fix it... even after calling and filing formal letters about it. Michael gave me several steps to take and guided me to engage my tax preparer. What a mess, but he made it better for me to know the only steps i could take and how to refute this with the IRS to stop a potentially costly error entirely caused by FNMA and Shellpoint system issues.
